Indonesia has followed the good example of other Neso countries in setting up an Orange Tulip Scholarship programme. The programme fulfills a demand from Dutch institutions to promote their programmes in Indonesia. The corporate and public sector are participating to create an attractive pool of scholarships for Indonesian students.

Investing together in a joint future

This year there are more than 40 scholarships on offer with a total value of around € 600,000. Most scholarship are partial scholarships, but there are also some full scholarships available.

Orange Tulip Scholarships IndonesiaEach scholarship offered under the Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS) umbrella has its individual requirements and benefits. However, all of them are dedicated to talented Indonesian students who can go to the Netherlands to study for a foundation, bachelor’s or master’s programme.

The funds are coming from Dutch higher education institutions, the Indonesian Ministry of National Education and Culture, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and Air France-KLM. The slogan for the OTS campaign is 'Investing together in a joint future', reflecting the contribution of all parties involved.

Why participate?

As scholarship programmes attract a lot of attention from the public in Indonesia, participation in the OTS can be beneficial for Dutch institutions in various ways. First of all it will help in identifying bright Indonesian students. Secondly, the OTS can add value to promotional efforts as Nuffic Neso Indonesia involves the Indonesian media to make the programme widely known and also uses its own channels.

Thirdly, the OTS can be used by institutions in their own publication channels when targeting the Indonesian market. And finally, the extra attention through the programme could lead to more interest and applications for participating institutions.
