Nuffic prepares students for study in Holland
Each year in the countries where Nuffic has Neso offices, students come to our pre-departure briefings, in preparation of their departure to Holland. The meetings are well-attended, with the Neso Indonesia meeting even receiving more than 200 students this year.

At the meetings the students are informed about what to expect of an international classroom and of the Dutch education system, how to interact with fellow students and Dutch teachers and how to compare Dutch and local grading systems.
Online meetings
To cover the large distances within these countries, Nuffic Nesos organise more and more online meetings. Using social media like twitter during the meeting, we can reach a wide audience of students.
Focus on language, culture
In order to encourage knowledge migration, special attention is given to language and culture. For example, students are offered a crash course in ‘Dutch for beginners’ and they receive advice on differences in culture.
Alumni share experiences
During these meetings, students also have the chance to meet alumni and learn from their first-hand experience of all the matters that the Nesos provides advice about, such as arrival registration, student accommodation, teaching and assessment methods, student welfare, medical insurance and social security.
Furthermore, students have the chance to get in touch with fellow students who will be studying in the same country and perhaps also at the same institution.
