Nuffic’s Board of Trustees has appointed Mr F.K. Weima as Director-General of the organisation. He will take up the position on 1 November 2012.

Fedde Klaas (Freddy) Weima (1971) is currently manager of the Labour Market unit of the CAOP, the knowledge and service centre for the labour market and labour relations within the public domain. In that position he worked as director of the Sectorbestuur Onderwijsarbeidsmarkt (SBO), a centre of expertise concerning educational staff. Until 2007 he worked at various ministries.

Since 2011 Mr Weima has been coordinator of the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (KIA), a project that was initially launched by the Dutch innovation Platform. The KIA puts the Dutch knowledge economy on the international agenda and monitors its global position. He is also secretary of the Stichting van het Onderwijs (the Education Foundation).

Mr Weima succeeds Mr S.P. van den Eijnden, who left Nuffic in the spring to become President of the Executive Board of the Open University.
