Neso China managed to secure more Orange Tulip scholarships for talented Chinese students who want to study in Holland. Chinese students who would like to be considered for one of these scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year can register through an online registration system, which opened on 10 December 2012.

Increase in programmes and funds

Compared with last year the number of Dutch higher education institutions participating in the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme almost doubled, from nine to sixteen. The number of available programmes also increased and is more diverse than in previous years. The participating institutions offer a complete or partial tuition fee waiver for their final year or the entire study programme.

The number of available scholarships also increased from 25 to 45. This makes the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme an important tool to attract talented Chinese students, who generally come from the Project 985 or Project 211 universities, to the Netherlands.

More sponsors

The Orange Tulip Scholarship programme China is a public-private initiative and is supported by organisations such as KLM. The private organisations contribute to the costs of living. KLM also offers the scholarship recipients internship opportunities at their company in the Netherlands.

Neso China expects that more Dutch companies will participate in the scholarship programme in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Orange Tulip Scholarship programme

In addition to China, the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme is also organised by Nuffic Neso Indonesia, Nuffic Neso Korea, Nuffic Neso Mexico, and the Nuffic Neso Desk in Taipei.
