NICHE project helps Bangladesh Delta Plan
Climate change poses significant risks for Bangladesh. To deal with these risks, it is important that Bangladesh has high quality education and training institutions in the field of integrated water resources and land use management. The Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE) supports the capacity development of these institutions.

Sino-Dutch Forum on cooperation in higher education
The Chinese higher education sector is looking to cooperate more closely with Dutch higher education institutions. A large delegation of Chinese higher education institutions and government agencies visited the Netherlands on 25 June for a Sino-Dutch Higher Education Forum.

The Study in Holland website has undergone a complete make-over: it has a more compact structure and content as well as a fresh, new design. The focus is on students who are exploring the option of studying in Holland or another foreign country, and on international students who are currently in Holland.

Nuffic identifies obstacles in mainstreaming gender

NFP: first round Tailor-Made Training a success
The Tailor-Made Training programme, which is part of the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes, was launched on 1 January 2012. The first deadline, on 1 April, yielded 44 training requests from 21 different NFP countries. We have now completed the selection process and the first calls for tenders have recently been published.

An open approach to capacity building
Open course ware may help create academic teaching communities supporting higher education institutions in developing countries. Since 2008 the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science has been promoting open access to learning materials and lectures through the Wikiwijs programme, one of the many open course ware initiatives worldwide.
