Third SWB call brings 371 Brazilian students to Holland
In the third call of the Brazilian Science without Borders (SWB) programme 371 students were granted a scholarship to study in Holland for one year. Nearly half of the students will study at research universities. Fontys, TU/e and the University of Groningen receive the largest groups of students.
Interactive information session on Career and Business portal
In February Nuffic launched the career portal www.careerinholland.nl as an extension of the Holland Alumni network website. Nuffic designed online promotion materials about the portal for institutions to share with their international students. An information session about all these developments will be held in June.

CEAIE and Nuffic sign new Memorandum of Understanding
On 6 May Mr Shao Wei, secretary-general of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and Mr Freddy Weima, director-general of Nuffic signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for further cooperation between the two organisations.
Exchanging knowledge on higher education in Africa
Nuffic was recently invited to speak at a seminar on higher education and international development in Africa. Several case studies presented a varied view on the important role higher education plays in the progress of countries.
Living Lab Indonesia officially opened
The first students from Dutch and Indonesian universities are involved in real-life research projects in Indonesia after the opening of the Living Lab on 16 April. Nuffic introduced the Living Labs concept as an instrument to better position Dutch universities of applied sciences in the Neso target countries and regions.

Saturday 20 April the Nuffic-supported Huygens Talent Circle (HUTAC) hosted a seminar on the Dutch tax system for international high potentials. According to HUTAC president Ankur Sharma there is great interest among international students and young professionals to stay in the Netherlands after their studies.

Understanding the online behaviour of prospective students is key in today's education marketing. Nuffic published several reports about the preferred web portals and online behaviour of students in 2011. Netherlands opens international fair in Moscow
In October the Netherlands will open the international higher education fair in Moscow and St Petersburg. Dutch higher education institutions can join the special Dutch Pavilion that will be set up by Nuffic Neso.

Course in Dutch language and culture for Indonesian students
After a successful pilot in 2012, Nuffic Neso Indonesia has joined forces again with the Erasmus Taalcentrum and the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta to offer a free course on Dutch culture and language.
Russia and the Netherlands sign new MoU on higher education
The Dutch and Russian Education Ministers have signed a new cooperation agreement on higher education and scientific collaboration. The agreement was formalised during the visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin on Monday 8 April.
New Dutch development agenda published
The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Lilianne Ploumen, recently issued her long-awaited policy document: 'What the world deserves: A new agenda for aid, trade and investment'.
