Invite your students to join the Nuffic Neso pre-departure briefings
Nuffic Neso offices regularly hold pre-departure meetings to prepare students who are about to go to Holland for study purposes. If you have students coming to Holland, you can invite them to join these meetings.
Your students will receive practical information about studying and living in Holland and the effects of culture shock. You can ask your alumni to participate as well; they can give your students practical tips and specific campus information.
Acculturation in an international classroom
Special attention is paid to the acculturation in Dutch higher education. How should your students deal with students from different backgrounds in an international classroom? How should they communicate with their Dutch lecturers? How should they compare the Dutch grading system with their own.
