Registration is now open for the third ASEM Rectors’ Conference, held in Groningen, the Netherlands, on 25 & 26 September. The meeting will be preceded by the first Asia Europe Students Forum.

The meeting aims to further enhance working relations, institutional exchange and cooperation of universities between the two regions. It will also develop recommendations for the fourth Asia-Europe Meeting of Ministers for Education, to be held in Malaysia in 2013.

Informal platform

ASEM is short for Asia Europe Meeting and is organised by the Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF). It is an informal platform for dialogue and interaction between Asian and European countries, on all levels.

The Asean University Network and the University of Groningen are coorganising the event in September. For the first time students are invited to join the stakeholders process, at a meeting that takes place just before the Rectors’ Conference.

Advisory role for Neso’s Marrik Bellen

Neso China Director Marrik Bellen is on the Advisory Committee of the ASEM Education Hub. His main role is to advise ASEF on current trends and developments in higher education in both regions and recommend new activities as well as topics for conferences such as the rectors’ meeting.

For details on the programme and registration, please visit the ASEF website.
