Doing research in the Netherlands

Workshop round

1 only

Presenter

Dr. Marc de Jonge (NWO)

Description

In the Netherlands there are several ways to pursue a doctorate. The majority of doctoral candidates are employed by a research university or research institute, on either a full-time or a part-time basis. They have a temporary contract, earn a salary, pay social security contributions and build up a pension. But it is also possible to do a combined work-study programme, in which case your employer has a close cooperation with a research university.

In this session you will get all the information you need to get started as a researcher in the Netherlands.
