National Contact Point
Each EU member state has a
National Contact Point for Professional Recognition (NCP). The NCP provides information to people who wish to practise their respective professions in another country. The professions concerned are those set out in Directive 2005/36/EC.
The NCP refers people who want to have their professional qualifications recognised to the relevant competent authority, and provides information about the procedure.
In the Netherlands, the NCP is part of Nuffic. To provide this service, Nuffic cooperates with SBB, the Foundation for Cooperation on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market.
Competent authorities
The competent authority is the body that decides whether you may practise your regulated profession in the host country. Find out more about the competent authorities in the Netherlands.
SOLVIT
There is a
SOLVIT centre in all member states of the EU, as well as in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Private individuals and companies may contact a SOLVIT centre if they have a complaint about the application of European regulations, such as Directive 2005/36/EC, for example.
A SOLVIT centre is part of the national government and tries to solve specific problems within ten weeks. The SOLVIT procedure is free.
