Nuffic has awarded this tender to Hanze University Groningen - University of Applied Sciences, which has formed a consortium with the University of Groningen and UNESCO - IHE Institute for Water Education.
Project description
The University Zambezi (UniZambeze) is a recently created public university based in Beira. It has faculties in the provinces of Tete, Sofala, Manica and Zambezia.
The overall objective of this project is to contribute to better education service delivery in the central region. UniZambeze aims to produce qualified professionals in the fields of Engineering and Health sciences, two priority areas for UniZambeze and for the central region.
The implementing consortium will provide, among other things, the following inputs:
- training of UniZambeze staff at MSc level;
- curriculum development at graduate and post-graduate level;
- development of the didactical capacities of staff;
- capacity development for research;
- upgrading UniZambeze's materials and facilities, in particular the libraries and ICT facilities.
UniZambeze would like to mainstream gender to tackle gender issues throughout the university. The Dutch consortium will also give advice on career guidance, especially for women
