Project description
This project is placed within the overall university academic and curriculum reform, aimed at improving the accessibility and quality of education.
Maastricht University was invited to prepare a short course on assessment and integration of IT within problem-based learning (PBL) environments and a workshop on PBL in African contexts.
Since the Faculty of Education has joined the reform process, there is a need to increase lecturing staff's skills and competencies to respond to demand.
They are are expected to:
- master the main concepts and principles of PBL strategies;
- systematically apply PBL strategies in their practice;
- effectively use the assessment procedures of PBL.
In the long term, they are expected to provide a truly student-centered environment which gives students ownership of their learning process.
