This project has been developed by Holeta ATVET College. The tender for this project expired on 23 April 2012. Nuffic has awarded this tender to International Centre for development oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA), which has formed a consortium with CINOP, ITC-ILO and KIT.

Project description

This project will contribute to the commercialisation of the agricultural sector by strengthening Holeta ATVET College to deliver quality, gender sensitive, and demand driven education and training and applied research in the field of commercial agriculture.

The project aims to enhance the capacity of Holeta ATVET academic staff through long term training (MSc) and short courses as well as enhance their ability to apply the new teaching methodologies.

New policy will be developed, to enhance the capacity of Holeta ATVET to incorporate the needs of the labour market and private sector in its training programmes. This will focus on labour market/private sector linkages and collaborations to assure structural consultation and collaboration with labour market/private sector stakeholders and with government organisations and NGOs.
