Project description
This project will contribute to the commercialisation of the agricultural sector by helping Ardaita A-TVET College to deliver quality, gender-sensitive and demand-driven education and training and applied research in the field of commercial agriculture.
The project will train Ardaita staff in various subjects related to agribusiness development, ICT, library management, administrative management and project management. It will also address staff capacity to design and deliver new teaching approaches and assessments.
Centre of Excellence
The Government of Ethiopia has recently selected Ardaita A-TVET to be transformed into a Centre of Excellence, in close consultation and collaboration with the Agricultural Transformation Agency.
Objectives
This project aims to:
- strengthen Ardaita A-TVET college to deliver quality, gender sensitive, and demand driven education and training and applied research in the field of commercial agriculture.
- mainstream gender issues within the organisation and its training and research programmes
- enhance the capacity of Ardaita A-TVET college to incorporate the needs of the labour market and private sector in its training and research programmes
Vison and policy development
Finally, the project will help Ardaita develop and implement a vision and policy with regard to mainstreaming gender and creating linkages with the labour market, the private sector and other external stakeholders.
