Tailor-Made Training programme
The NFP Tailor-Made Training programme (TMT) specifically aims to improve the overall functioning of organisations by training selected groups of employees. A Tailor-Made Training is designed to meet the specific needs of the requesting organisation. A Tailor-Made Training course has a maximum budget of € 200,000.
New deadlines for tailor-made training applications will be communicated shortly. In the meantime download documents will be slightly adjusted and are therefore not available online.
Who can participate?
The TMT programme is open to a broad range of organisations in the 62 NFP countries, from educational institutions, research institutes and ministries to NGOs and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

What type of activities can be conducted?
A Tailor-Made Training is a group training. The programme does not support, for example, seminar attendances and conference visits. To ensure cost efficiency and educational effectively, groups must consist of at least six persons. The maximum size of a group is approximately 20 persons.
Training location and duration
The training may take place in the Netherlands, in your own country, in a neighbouring country, or in a combination of these locations. Preference is given to training courses that are partially or entirely conducted in your own country or region.
A training must be completed and reported on within 12 months after the grant has been awarded.
How to submit a training request
If your organisation is interested in a Tailor-Made Training submit a training outline by email to the Netherlands embassy or consulate in your country.
The application you submit to the embassy must be complete with all the required documentation according to the required formats. Applications that are not submitted according to the required procedure and format will not be accepted.
After you have submitted your application you cannot make any adjustments or additions. Nuffic cannot accept any additional documents sent by email or regular post. These additional documents will not be taken into consideration.
When to submit
Your outline must reach Nuffic before one of Nuffic's three deadlines. Ask the embassy or consulate what their internal deadline is. If you miss a deadline, we do not transfer it to the next deadline so you must re-submit it to your embassy or consulate.
- 1 April 2012 - expired, see selected training requests(16.8 KB)
- 1 August 2012 - expired, see selected training requests(93.5 KB)
- 1 December 2012 - expired, see selected training requests(102.2 KB)
- 1 April 2013 - expired
New deadlines for tailor-made training applications will be communicated shortly. In the meantime certain download documents will be slightly adjusted and are therefore not available online.
What to submit
Submit your outline together with a declaration of acceptance signed by the responsible legal representative of your organisation.
These download documents are being adjusted and are therefore not available online at this moment.
- Download the Tailor-Made Training application form
- Download the instructions for the Tailor-Made Training application form
- Download the declaration of acceptance - this must be filled out by the requesting organisation when submitting a training application or proposal written together with a Dutch provider.
The embassy or consulate completes its part of your outline and then forwards it to Nuffic for further selection.
After the deadline, an internal selection committee assesses all outlines against the capacities and needs of the organisations. The committee also looks at feasibility, relevance and linkages with other Dutch government-funded activities. This leads to a ranking of trainings that will be funded.
Matching demand and supply
The process of matching training demand and supply depends on the size of the training budget:
Training budgets up to € 50,000
If your proposed training budget is below € 50,000 there are two options:
- A selected outline: Nuffic directly appoints a Dutch training provider, who has to submit a training proposal. The proposal will be assessed by Nuffic and your organisation.
- A selected and approved proposal, developed together with a Dutch provider: the training can start immediately.
Training budgets between € 50,000 and € 200,000
Nuffic will publish your training outline as a subsidy Call for tenders.
Interested Dutch providers can submit a bid, either on their own or as the lead partner of a consortium. There are no restrictions on the country of origin of consortium members, but they must meet the same eligibility criteria as the lead organisation.
The bids will be assessed by a Tender Evaluation Committee (TEC) consisting of a representative of the requesting organisation, a Nuffic representative and an independent chairperson who is an expert in the subject of the proposed training. The TEC recommends the most qualified applicant after which Nuffic awards the grant to the winning bidder.
Please note that the regulations for Board and Lodging have changed. For TMT courses taking place in NFP countries, parties can claim actual costs of board and lodging based on a medium-range hotel (all inclusive); Daily allowances will not be reimbursed.
