Ms Marleen Barth

Political scientist Marleen Bath (1964) has been Chair of the Mental Health Association (GGZ) in the Netherlands since May 2008. She started her career at Dutch newspaper Trouw. In 1998 she became a member of parliament for the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA). She also worked as an independent consultant and she was Chair of the PvdA party in the Provincial Council of North Holland; from 2005 - 2008 she was Chair of the Christian teachers union in the Netherlands (CNV Onderwijs).

In addition she holds several other positions, including that of member of the Board of Trustees of Teleac/NOT (the educational broadcaster of the Netherlands) and Chair of the Zonnebloem Association, a charity for people with disabilities.

She joined Nuffic’s Board of Trustees in 2009.
